Easigrass history: The brand of brothers
Easigrass was originally founded by the youngest of the three Gallagher brothers, Jonathan Gallagher. A former tennis coach, Jonathan’s experience on the grounds on which he taught and played in the 1980s led him to realise there was a gap in the market for providing maintenance of these surfaces. There was major development within the sports surface industry during this time, with the introduction of artificial grass. Using the new pioneering AstroTurf products and high-end installation skills, Johnathan secured official recognition from worldwide governing bodies, including FIFA, FIH and World Rugby for sport fields throughout the world. He has overseen the supply, construction and installation of more than one million square metres of sports turf – including tennis, football, hockey and rugby – throughout the world in professional, commercial, educational and residential settings.
Jonathan’s brother, Anthony, joined the Easigrass team 12 years ago, bringing many years of experience in sales, construction and marketing. This was at a time when the only grass available for domestic setting installation was the same type and style as that was being fitted on sports fields. He identified the opportunity in the garden market to introduce a product that would closely resemble real grass. Easigrass become the first brand in the UK to introduce dead-grass infill into artificial grass to give the product a more authentic and natural look
Securing the TM on the brand, as well as European patent on the iconic grass-covered Smart car, Anthony succeeded in entering the first artificial grass product in a judged garden competition at the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show in 2010. The judges awarded the historic entry, a Silver Gilt Medal. Easigrass has won six RHS Chelsea Flower Show awards since this remarkable show debut, including the RHS Gold Medal – the highest of horticultural honours.
The mass exposure of Easigrass and its products, as a result of its incredible success, generated a vast number of enquiries from around the UK and abroad. The Easigrass National Franchise Network was then established to meet demand, which became too great for the central London office to meet on its own. Within five years, a strong Easigrass family of expert suppliers and installers covered the whole of the UK.
Thanks to the on-going hard work, dedication, talent and enthusiasm of Anthony, Jonathan and the whole of the team in the UK and worldwide, Easigrass is now a household name that is synonymous with quality products, innovation and outstanding service.
