How To Install Artificial Grass

The Easigrass Way!

Installation Step 01

Remove existing earth, dirt and sand down to the required depth:

This includes removing the existing grass area, its root base and a section of soil underneath. This is reduced to a specific depth to enable our professional fitters to install all the layers required to construct the high quality, fully porous fake grass system.

Installation Step 02

Fit the weed barrier:

The Easigrass professional fitters then apply and fit the specially designed Easi-Weed barrier on the exposed soil base. This specially chosen geotextile membrane sheet is placed to prevent the growth of weeds and sinking of the aggregate across the whole base of the artificial lawn.

Installation Step 03

Fit the metal Easi-Edge detail:

The Easigrass professional fitters then fits the specially designed Easi-Edge around the designated perimeter of where the grass is going to be laid. This wonderful edge detail is a steel powder coated hand made quality product that enables the garden to have a beautiful crisp brown edge surround. Achieving a sharp formal or curved look.

Installation Step 04

Construct an aggregate base:

The Easigrass installation team builds a specialist aggregate base across the whole area where the artificial grass lawn is to be fitted. The team then compacts the area using its specialist range of equipment.

Installation Step 05

Level the base lawn area:

The Easigrass installation team use specific materials, including a screed bar, to ensure a perfect level across the lawn area. This provides a strong, durable and professionally levelled base for precise installation of an artificial grass lawn.

Installation Step 06 (Optional)

Shock-pad base fit:

The next part of the process if required is to expertly fit a shock-pad base on top of the aggregate base. The shock pad base provides a durable cushioned layer underneath the garden lawn. This is fitted for two important reasons:

  • The cushioned layer provides an element of safety in the garden, particularly for children. If children are playing on the artificial grass, the shock pads provide a safer, softer surface if they fall over.
  • The fitted pad system also adds a cushioned feel when walking on our fake grass lawns.

Installation Step 07

Supply and fit the chosen Easigrass lawn:

The installation team supplies and fits the Easigrass lawn chosen by the customer. Our professionals apply the same joining methods for domestic gardens as used by our Easigrass sports field specialists. High quality commercial joints are used to bind the sections of artificial grass carpet on a sheet of joining tape.

Installation Step 08

Apply strong, durable quality glue to all the edges:

The expertly mixed sports field grade 2 part glue is applied to ensure a perfect base placement of the artificial lawn. This is designed to withstand high foot traffic and all-weather conditions.

Installation Step 09

Carefully and precisely close all seams:

The Easigrass professionals ensure all seams are expertly closed. A professional joint ensures a durable, visibly seamless finish that will never come apart.

Installation Step 10

Apply and mechanically brush silica sand infill:

To provide exceptional stability and protection of the entire installation, a silica sand infill is applied with a special drop spreader and then mechanically brushed on the Easigrass lawn. This product is an essential part of the installation process. The silica sand not only maintains the lawn, it also ensures it will remain stabilised and prevents it moving or ripping when exposed to extremely hot weather.

When it comes to laying an artificial lawn, you’re assured of highly skilled professional installers with Easigrass.
